sunflower seed italian sausage

This is gluten free and soy free!!
I use this for pizza, it will not do well in sauce
 Equipment:
Food processor
saute pan (non-stick if  you have)
heavy duty spatula


Ingredients:
3/4 cup cooked rice ( I used basmati)
1 cup roasted sunflower seeds, unsalted
1/4 cup tahini, unsalted
1 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
2 tsp black pepper
2 tsp oregano
1 tsp garlic (fresh clove), or powder
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 1/2 tsp molasses
1 "swirl" of agave nectar (or you can use a tsp of sugar)
2 tsp salt (or to taste), or, if you did happen to use salted seeds, taste and see the level of salt that you need.


Method...
"This will crumble pretty easily, so take care to roll it very dense and take care in flipping"
Place warm, dry rice in food processor with sunflower seeds and combine, add tahini and combine until very well blended.  Add all spices and blend so that the fennel breaks up somewhat.  
Make little roll ups of all of the food processor sausage mix
Heat your saute pan up to "high" and let it get very very hot to brown the sausage up.  When the pan is extremely hot place the sausage in and flip carefully with spatula until browned up (the browning will give it a very nutty and sausage like flavor)


Use for pizza, or with toothpicks as little appetizers
